This project consisted of the renovation of a 5-story, 81,300 sq. ft. building that was built in the mid 1970s to house soldiers. The contract included a large amount of mold, asbestos and lead paint abatement, 100% interior demolition, 100% interior build-out providing all new finishes (including the removal of a 30' x 50' portion of the existing concrete roof structure to allow for a vaulted ceiling at the commanders' conference room), all new MEP systems including emergency generator, replacing all existing windows, the addition of a front entrance and mechanical rooms, the construction of new loading docks, and 3 separate parking areas. The building and site had to be brought up to current ATFP requirements which included the structural reinforcing of existing walls and construction of earthen berms around the building perimeter.
