Sydney & Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden
New Orleans Museum of Art
New Orleans, Louisiana
$5,104,000

The Sculpture Garden is set on 5.4 acres in New Orleans City Park, amongst the 200 year-old oak trees. A lagoon was carved out splitting the project in half. Three pile supported concrete bridges were built to connect the two sides together. Brick pathways run throughout the gardens where approximately 30 sculptures set upon pile supported concrete foundations. A reflection pool was built next to the lagooon with a waterfall into the lagoon. The entrance plaza has a restroom and docent pavilion. Bronze gates were constructed at the entrances and a wrought iron fence encloses the entire garden. Precast clads all exposed concrete. The garden was landscaped with planter beds, sod, and new trees.
